EVALUATION OF DISSIPATION ENERGY OF ISOTROPIC CONTINUUM DAMAGE MECHANICS MODEL WITH ADAPTIVE TIME-STEP CONTROL APPROACH

This paper proposes an algorithm to evaluate dissipation energy of isotropic continuum damage mechanics model with adaptive time-step control approach. The takes place at each integration point under the scope finite element analysis. total amount one structure can be used verify conservation law energy, where summation elastic strain and should equal work by external force. However, shows that this condition may not valid when unstable crack propagation occurs. When is unstable, development driven stored without load. strains beginning ending time within increment damaged elements will give inaccurate classic trapezoidal scheme. In addition, a new evolution shape function C1 continuity strain-stress curve uniaxial tension test, which demonstrate numerical procedure algorithm.
